My Best Friend
Once I was at my friend's house and his daughter was writing an essay on "My Best Friend"...
...Deepak is my best friend. He is an intelligent boy....
Suddenly she turned to me and asked, "Uncle, can I write 'Vishu' instead of Deepak in this essay?"
I was amused at her question and told her that she could write any name there and even she could change the gender of the subject in the essay if she would like to mention any of her friends who are girls.
She replied, "No I have to just write 'Vishu' instead of Deepak. He is my best friend."
I asked, "what do you want to tell by writing his name in the essay?"
She replied, "I just want to show the gratefulness for the care he has for me. Do you show gratefulness to your friends?"
Her reply touched my heart and I just lost in my own thoughts ... When was the last time when I had shown my gratefulness to my friends? or even to my best of friends!!!
I decided to write a post on my blog regarding that and then the thought got lost in my daily routine and hectic schedule of my life...
But friends, today I have decided to express my thankfulness to my friends and to my Lord who gave me such nice friends...
This blog is specially dedicated to my best of the bests friend... His name is Anand... His full name is Anand Deep Singh and he is also known as A.D.Singh, Deepu, Nandu... but I call him Nandi or motu with affection...
He is very handsome, tall, slim... he recently got married and is running a business at Adviteeya Services (www.adviteeya.com)
He is my friend since I entered in 11th class and has been my best friend since the first day when I met him
since we met...we enjoyed together... fought with each other... learnt new things... bunked classes...played cricket and wandered all over the town on our bicycles
followed girls and explored the new worlds opening in our youthful times... prepared for exams... weaved many dreams about future... to run businesses... to get admitted to same college... and a whole lotta more...
we were not always together... completed studies in different cities... worked for a few years in separate cities... but our hearts were always connected and will remain so always...
I have faced many challenges from life and he was always standing besides me not just as a support but as my own image...as a tough fighter... even when I would leave heart, he inspired me to go forward...
He corrected me when I was wrong... He completed my sentences when I had no courage to say them on my own...
He favored me even when I was wrong and everybody else was against me... He listened all my secrets and kept them always secret
Others offerred me a shoulder to cry on but he made me laugh when I wanted to cry...
Since I joined RBS (www.rbs.com), I was living with him and he had taken a great care of me... however I would like to stay together forever...he has to start his married life ...
we may not meet daily now... may be we not replying each other's calls sometimes... may be our scraps on orkut get less.. but our love and friendship will stay... and hearts always attached...
